Scare-meister Oren Peli Talks Horror Movies, Spoilers and What's Next on The River!
Connie Britton Connie Britton won't be off your TV screen for very long. She has just landed the lead in ABC's Nashville pilot. The family soap takes place among the Nashville music scene. Britton plays Rayna James, a faded country musician whose career gets a shot in the arm by teaming up with rising young star Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere). As previously announced, Jonathan Jackson, Powers Boothe, Robert Wisdom, Clare Bowenand Sam Palladio will co-star. Pilot Season: Get the scoop! Britton is best known for her Emmy-nominated performance as football wife Tami Taylor on Friday Night Lights, as well as in the 2004 film on which it was based. Most recently, she starred on the first season on Ryan Murphy's anthology American Horror Story. Callie Khouri (Thelma & Louise) and RJ Cutler wrote and will executive-produce the pilot.

'Buds' tops Czech Lions film honours
PRAGUE -- Debut helmer Zdenek Jirasky's "Flower Buds" won best picture, director, actor for Vladimir Javorsky and cinematography in the Czech Republic's Czech Lions film honours in Prague on Saturday. The org honored the late former leader and scribe Vaclav Havel, who died in December, with script and editing honors for his political parody, "Departing." Tribute was poignant as Havel's loss continues to be deeply felt within the arts and human privileges towns. Anna Geislerova won actress prize for suspenser "Innocence," that also won supporting actor for Hynek Cermak. Tatjana Medvecka nabbed supporting actress honors for "House," the storyline of the obsessive father who develops his daughter the house she never wanted. Martin Marecek's "Within Dark Sun," about Czech volunteers in Africa, obtained docu prize while haunting animated pic "Alois Nebel" required best seem, music and art direction.
