Berlusconis Mediaset Co-Bids For Endemol
Just days after Silvio Berlusconi left Italian politics, he’s already around the search for Large Media. Berlusconi’s Mediaset and Italian private equity finance firm Clessidra have joined some pot bid for Nederlander reality TV giant Endemol. “We have presented our offer with Clessidra,” Mediaset vice chairman (and also the former pm’s boy) Pier confirmed Thursday, based on reviews from Milan. No terms were revealed. But earlier this year Mediaset’s CFO stated the organization would invest more income in Endemol if there have been a “clear strategy” for the organization. When queried concerning the Mediaset/Clessidra bid, Endemol spokesperson Charlie Gardner told Deadline, “Our focus is around the restructuring in our debt. Individuals discussions are advancing well and that we’re confident of an optimistic outcome soon.” Mediaset presently is the owner of around another of Endemol, whose other proprietors are Goldman Sachs’ Capital Partners and John p Mol’s investment vehicle Cyrte. Time Warner lately designed a $1.4 billion unrequested offer for Endemol that the target placed on hold because it proceeds having a debt restructuring.
